About Us

Gcobisa Nkomo (Gcobisa) commenced her legal career at the Constitutional Court of South Africa where she served as a Legal Researcher. In this role Gcobisa was involved in conducting comprehensive research on points of law. She also drafted pre and post hearing memoranda based on the facts, the law and precedence. She drafted numerous legal opinions advising on what the law says on particular matters.

Gcobisa is an admitted attorney; she served her articles at Bowman Gilfillan Attorney where she was trained on commercial transactions that included drafting, review and negotiation of numerous commercial agreements.

Gcobisa later joined NMI Attorneys as an Associate Director in the commercial department. In this role she worked commercial contracts by drafting and reviewing agreements, reviewing and providing legal advice on the Construction and Engineering contracts including FIDIC, NEC, GCC and JBCC, drafting comprehensive legal opinions regarding legal disputes emanating from commercial agreements and the Construction and Engineering contracts

She then Joined RailPro Holdings as a Senior Legal Advisor where she was handling all the litigation and commercial disputes of the organisation such as Service Level Agreements, Framework Agreements, Joint Venture Agreements, Sub-Contractor Agreements, Loan Agreements, Commercial Lease Agreements, memoranda of Understanding etc.

Afterwards she joined A-M Consulting Engineers as Group Head of Legal. In this role she was working on numerous commercial transactions as well as commercial litigation. She was responsible for drafting and vetting commercial agreements, including Service Level Agreements, Framework Agreements, Joint Venture Agreements, Sub-Contractor Agreements, Consultancy Agreements, Loan Agreements, Commercial Lease Agreements, memoranda of Understanding etc.

Gcobisa has extensive experience in drafting, vetting and negotiating an array of commercial agreements including specialised agreements such as construction and engineering contracts. Gcobisa also has comprehensive experience in legal research and opinion drafting and advice.
